Looking back at last year, one of my fondest moments was finding the Robin in the Wisteria nesting outside my front door. I hope she returns again this year.

Spring, 2009
Spring is trying to arrive. I remain positive, even when the sky turns grey and overcast.

The Robin in The Wisteria
You may wonder why I love Interlaken Gardens so much. The location, 30 minutes from Manhattan and the property - with 44 acres built on what once was a tree farm, peace and quiet abounds. Right outside the entrance to my building, wisteria grows on both sides of the porch. On the right side, hidden within the leaves, resides a young robin and her nest. A wonderful site to come home to.

Mid-February Thoughts of Spring
Mid-February and thoughts of Spring are dancing all around. New cooperative listings are slow this year.
If you are like most people, concerns about market stability, credit availability and general sense of making a mistake by purchasing a property that may be worth less next year are prevalent on your mind. Let me address these concerns.
Every buying season brings with it a market type, whether it is a Buyers Market or a Sellers Market. A simple way to look at this - whichever there is more of, it is the opposite market. When there are more buyers than sellers, it is a Sellers Market and when there are more sellers than buyers, it is a Buyers Market. Simple principal of The Law of Supply and Demand.
We are now seeing a Buyers Market. With that in mind, a seller that needs to sell may be more flexible in their offering than before. At the same time, as a buyer you want to pay a fair market value for your home. A fair market value purchase price helps maintain the stability of the community and the future stability of your property value.

Upcoming Events
On a day when we are waking up to ice covered streets and rain, it is a bit difficult to look forward to sunny days on Lake Innisfree. The Lake Committee for Interlaken Gardens is busy planning events for the year. The next event on the calendar is the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
Residents of Interlaken are always welcome to join the Lake Committee. Contact me for details. Our next meeting will be Saturday, February 23.

Interlaken Gardens
A wonderful garden apartment cooperative community located on beautiful Lake Innisfree.
The Beginning...
I want to make this a site you want to come back to on a regular basis. In the meantime, I am also learning how to develop this information. Thanks for your patience and thanks for visiting.
